For nearly 16 years, Ubisoft has expanded its celebrated series of Кредо Убийцы games with numerous story DLC, first popping up in 2009’s Убийцы 2 and most recently appearing in 2025’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Some DLCs directly follow-up on the main games’ endings, while others serve as additional side quests with fun, temporary mechanics and some even put fan-favorite side characters in the spotlight to explore their own growth beyond the tales of Кредо Убийцы‘s main protagonists.

With Ubisoft Bordeaux recently releasing the first major DLC for Тени в форме Когти Авадзи expansion, I thought it was a perfect time to look back at all of Кредо Убийцы‘s major DLCs released over the years.

These DLCs will be ranked by their narrative quality, gameplay, exclusive features, and ways they progressively expand Кредо Убийцы‘s overall story and characters.

20 Assassin’s Creed Revelations: The Lost Archive

Assassin’s Creed At Its Most Boring

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked0

Кредо ассасина: откровения is well-known for concluding both Ezio Auditore da Firenze and Altair Ibn-La’Ahad’s stories in Constantinople and Masyaf, but it’s less known for exploring more of Desmond Miles’ journey and the modern day conflict between the Templars and Assassins within the core of the Animus.

While Miles could explore Animus Island in traditional third-person gameplay, most of these memory sequences are unfortunately played instead in first-person in dull gray environments while Miles is forced to create floating white blocks and ramps to move from area to area.

This is the primary gameplay of Забыли архив DLC, and it’s without a doubt the most boring Кредо Убийцы content I’ve ever played, as the puzzles and platforming aren’t even fun like those seen in Portal or even traditional AC gameplay.

Sure, learning more about Subject 16 Clay Kaczmarek and Lucy Stillman’s past is a bit interesting, but this story should have been told in a proper prequel DLC using Revelations‘ main gameplay instead of being regulated to audio played over blocky platforming.

19 Assassin’s Creed Syndicate: The Last Maharaja

A Dull Extension Of Syndicate’s Story

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked1

Despite being one of the lowest selling mainline AC игры, Скрининг Assassin’s Creed released many DLCs during its time, but easily the worst one of the three was the second DLC released for the 19th century London game, The Last Maharaja.

В то время как The Last Maharaja explores the titular prince and knight’s life in London and delves a bit into the interesting relationship between the United Kingdom, India, and the Sikh Empire in the late 19th century, it doesn’t really add anything new or exceptionally fun to Синдикат.

No new gameplay elements are added in The Last Maharaja, its character interactions are some of the most glitchy I’ve ever seen in an Ubisoft game, and none of the characters featured in the DLC really grow beyond Duleep Singh himself, though that was more of a necessity to hint at his later renewed interest and embrace of his Sikhism heritage in the late 1860s.

Even the DLC’s MacGuffin of the Koh-i-Noor was revealed to be a fake and was known to be a fake the whole entire time by Henry Green, so the whole DLC’s story and purpose just felt pointless by the end of its runtime.

18 Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood: Copernicus Conspiracy

Copernicus’ Wasted Potential

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked2

Assassin’s Creed’s Трилогия Эцио of games showcased many famed artists, intellectuals, and politicians during the time of the Italian Renaissance, but none were arguably misused more than the world-changing astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus in Кредо ассасина братство«s Copernicus Conspiracy DLC.

Originally released as a PlayStation 3 exclusive DLC, the Copernicus Conspiracy sees Ezio encounter the young astronomer in Rome as he’s attacked by Borgia Templars striving to keep his discoveries a secret.

Despite centering around one of the most important scholars of all time, the DLC primarily consists of by the numbers escort missions and time trials focused on preventing Copernicus’ fellow scholars from being killed by the Borgia.

As an avid history nerd, the way in which Copernicus was utilized here was very disappointing, as he could have played a more prominent role akin to Leonardo da Vinci, helping the Assassins learn more about the world and potentially Isu artifacts while studying at the nearby Universities of Bologna and Padua.

17 Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag: Aveline

The Overbrief Return Of Aveline And Connor

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked3

Assassin’s Creed 4: Черный флаг is well-regarded as not just one of the best AC games ever made, but one of the best pirate games ever made period. However, its originally PS3 and PS4 exclusive Aveline DLC sadly did not meet the same heights as its base game or Freedom Cry counterpart.

Set decades after the events of Черный флаг and a few years after Убийцы 3, Aveline DLC sees Connor Kenway task Кредо Убийцы 3: Освобождение protagonist Aveline de Grandpre with rescuing and recruiting a freed slave named Paitience Gibbs from Templars.

It’s great to see Noah Watts and Amber Goldfarb return to reprise their roles as Connor and Aveline in this DLC, but the biggest issue with this expansion is that it’s far too short and doesn’t really add anything new to Черный флагигровой процесс.

The Aveline DLC can be completed in its entirety in under 40 minutes, and it primarily consists of Aveline jumping from bush to bush, freeing slaves, and stealthily taking down Templars, which is far too basic gameplay for the return of one of AC‘s most interesting lead characters.

16 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: The Fate of Atlantis

A Deep Dive Into Greek Mythology

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked4

Кредо Убийцы is well-known for being a fairly grounded historical fiction series, aside from the occasional fantastic element largely derived from the ancient alien-like Isu Precursor Sites and Pieces of Eden; or at least the franchise was considered that way until Ubisoft cannonballed into mythology with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey«s Судьба Атлантиды DLC.

For me, I always preferred when AC games focused more on the grounded Assassin vs. Templar conflict throughout history, so when I saw Odyssey‘s base game had players fight literal Cyclopes and Minotaurs and Судьба Атлантиды furthering this exploration in making mythology a reality, I wasn’t a fan.

Конечно, Судьба Атлантиды‘ recreation of Elysium, the Underworld, and Atlantis, alongside depictions of Greek mythology creatures such as Cerberus and Hecatoncheires, were visually interesting, but these locations and beings don’t mesh well with AC‘s core tenants of living through real historical events.

Kassandra’s adventure through Elysium and fighting Isu Greek Gods in Atlantis just feels disjointed with the rest of the AC franchise, and its story and gameplay feels more at home in other, mythologically focused franchises like God of War or Бессмертные Феникс Восход.

15 Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok

A Leap Into Norse Mythology

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked5

For the same reasons why I disliked Судьба Атлантиды, I’m equally not a fan of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla«s Рассвет Рагнарока DLC, which delves more into Norse mythology than actual historical events or Assassin vs. Templar conflicts.

Вместо этого, Ragnarok has players relive Eivor’s past life as the Isu Norse God Odin attempting to save his son Baldr from Surtr and his legion of fire giants called Muspels.

Again, while it is interesting to witness a new, visually impressive interpretation of Norse mythology’s «nine realms» in this DLC, it clashes so much with what Кредо Убийцы есть.

Помимо вышесказанного, Ragnarok is frankly a fairly boring retelling of the Norse casatrophe, especially compared to Бог войны Рагнарок, primarily due to the DLC being bloated with the same unnecessary busy work that Valhalla’s base game is notorious for that not even its new godly powers such as Power of the Raven can help.

14 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Legacy of the First Blade

Darius’ Time to Shine

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked6

Несмотря на то, что он меньше, чем Судьба Атлантиды, мне понравилось Odysseyпервый DLC, Наследие Первого Клинка, a lot more since it actually expanded upon AC lore in meaningful ways and showed character growth in Kassandra.

Set primarily in Macedonia, First Blade follows Kassandra as she inadvertently ends up aiding Darius, the creator of the first hidden blade, and his son Natakas face off against the Persian Order of the Ancients.

While Darius, nor his incarnation of the hidden blade, are playable in this DLC, it’s still awesome to see Darius in action, learn how he first used the hidden blade to assassinate King Xerxes the Great, and witness the early machinations of the Order of the Ancients, the predecessor organization to the Templar Order.

However, this DLC is held back a bit due to how it conflicts with Odyssey‘s inherent RPG nature, especially with how it forces Kassandra to fall in love with Natakas and have a child with him despite some players making Kassandra fall in love with other men or women.

13 Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids

An Interesting Look At Medieval Ireland

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked7

Valhalla‘s first major DLC, Гнев друидов, may not have introduced many new gameplay elements compared to Ragnarok или даже Siege of Paris, but it makes up for this lack of innovation through its fascinating look at medieval Ireland and its politics during the late 9th century.

Set in 879-881, Друиды sees Evior travel to Dublin to help his cousin, King Barid mac Imair, form a strong alliance between him and the High King of Ireland, Flann Sinna, and thwart a rebellion by a cult of Pagan Irish natives known as the Children of Danu who strive to oust both the Christian and Norse presence in Ireland.

As a history fan, it’s a lot of fun to witness Sinna’s coronation at the Lia Fail and see the cultural conflict between the native Irish and the ever encroaching Vikings and Christians, as well as seeing Dublin long before it became the city it is here today.

В то время как Друиды does introduce some fantastical elements with the use of werewolves and puca, those are retconned as being hallucinations perceived from the Друиды‘ gas so they don’t really conflict with AC‘s nature as much as the gods and mythical beasts seen in Ragnarok or Атлантида сделал.

12 Assassin’s Creed 2: The Battle of Forli

A Needless Detour

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked8

Кредо Убийцы‘s first ever DLC, Убийцы 2«s The Battle of Forli, was an alright if a bit unnecessary detour from the sequel’s base campaign.

Forli is the story of the originally corrupted Sequence 12 of Ezio’s early life, depicting the young Assassin’s attempt to protect the Apple of Eden at Forli with Caterina Sforza from Templar hired mercenaries Checco and Ludovico Orsi.

It is nice to play more of Ezio’s story this way, plus it was fun to be able to use Da Vinci’s flying machine again, but the story doesn’t really develop Ezio much as a character or present the Orsi brothers as fascinating or menacing villains.

To me, this is easily one of the most skippable DLCs in the AC franchise, as all that you really need to know about to play the next DLC is that Ezio lost the Apple to the infamous friar Girolamo Savonarola.

11 Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris

The Potential Of A Viking Assassin

Every Major Assassin’s Creed DLC, Ranked9

После появления Valhalla was first announced alongside the return of social stealth from older AC titles, I thought the game would have featured Eivor as a Viking trained to be an Assassin, similar to how Connor and Edward Kenway were recruited to be Assassins.

That didn’t really happen, with Eivor instead just being the reincarnation of Odin with a rather undisd Hidden Blade and social stealth playing little to no impactful or necessary role in Valhallaбазовая игра.

Однако Осада Парижа DLC perfectly showcased what I envisioned Valhalla could have been by making social stealth actually viable and introducing proper assassination missions with the return of Кредо Убийцы Ассасина‘s Black Box open structure, allowing players to assassinate targets through numerous pathways and methods.

On top of the improved gameplay, Осада Парижа‘ depiction of 9th century France is a ton of fun to explore, especially with how different it is compared to Ireland, England, and Norway, with its high walls, crowded city, and wartorn plains.
